Nine Years and One Day and Counting ...

Even though I didn't get a blog post done yesterday, I marked the anniversary of your passing, Comet.

I thought about  you and told someone a story about what you did when we came home from a long overseas trip. You were so excited to see us and we were so excited to see you!

It was a wonderful homecoming and a favorite memory.

I will always love you, Comet, and I will always miss you.

October 25, 2008 ... that's when we lost you, our little Comet dog.  Hard to believe that was 8 years ago. You remain a cherished part of our lives, Comet. We think about you and talk about you and miss you every day.

A full turn of the calendar since Comet was with us.

She left tracks on our hearts and we miss our little Ter pup every day. We remember her antics and the way she would greet us at the door. We talk about her and laugh about her and think about her. Comet moments -- those times when we miss, miss, miss her and shed a few tears -- sneak up on us. Often.

It's been a year ...

Comet,

It's been a year since you ate those bones and got so sick and had surgery.

I just read some of the old blog posts and it makes me feel wistful. We think of you and talk about you every day. We miss, miss, miss you. You were the perfect dog for us.

We love you forever, Comet. You were our best girl.

In Memory of Comet

I write this with a heavy heart. Our girl is gone. Comet passed away during the night. She went to sleep knowing that she was much loved.

This picture of Comet in her taxi was taken during the last week of her life when she was doing her best to recover from her back injury. Even when she is scruffy looking, she is a sweetie pie!

Comet had a wonderful life and brought us joy. There is a hole in our house and in our hearts, and we will miss our girl.

Rest in peace, Comet the Ter pup. We love you.
